Sponsoring WhereCampEU 2012
We are proud to have been announced as the first sponsor of WhereCampEU 2012! The event will take place on April 28th and 29th and Amsterdam will this year's host city of the event. WhereCampEU will nicely follow on from the Geospatial World Forum that will run from April 23th to April 27th. Also, be sure to stay another day to experience Queen's Day!
WhereCamps were first organised as the
un-conference preceeding or following the O'Reilly Where conferences in San Francisco. Since, other WhereCamps have taken place at various locations inside and outside the US. In 2010, WhereCamp crossed the Pond and when London was the host city, followed by Berlin last year. As attendance to WhereCamp is free and open to anyone interested in geography and technology, there is no prescribed schedule and the content of sessions is driven by the people who attend. Therefore, WhereCampEU 2012 will be what you make of it! The first 50 tickets where
sold out within just a few hours and there's already an impressive attendee list. With more sponsors (Geodan, Google, ITO World, Nestoria) signing up, surely more batches of tickets will be released over the coming weeks.
With online mapping and web cartography at the core of our work, we at Webmapper believe that WhereCampEU 2012 will be a great event to reflect on all the recent developments in these areas and we look forward to discussing its innovations and future directions. See you all in Amsterdam!
